Common hair problems and their solutions.

We love to experiment with our look and the first thing we do when we want a drastic change is change up our hair! Curls, perms, straightening, re-bonding and countless other treatments is what our hair needs to deal with through its life. So much treatment can definitely damage even the hardiest tresses. Lets look at some remedies for common hair problems.

If your hair is damaged by heat, all you need is one teaspoon of olive oil, two teaspoons of mayonnaise mixed with one egg. Slather this on your hair, cover with a plastic bag and sit pretty for 30 minutes!

Hair too flat? Use vinegar after your regular shampoo and conditioner routine and rinse it out well. It will also get rid of the excess build-up that weighs down on your hair.

Dandruff ruining your style? Try a mixture of lemon juice, yogurt and vinegar along with a good anti-dandruff shampoo. It is important to treat dandruff as soon as possible because it can cause skin problems as well. You can develop acne on your face, back and shoulders due to dandruff. If there is no difference within 2 weeks, it is advisable to see a specialist.

Healthy hair is a combination of taking good care of your locks and also eating a balanced and healthy diet. A little care and attention will go a long way to making sure your hair remains healthy throughout.

A product that works! : Amino Collagen

Amino Collagen has done single-handedly what my entire vanity-case could not. I’m a student who works as a model, doing print ads and small commercials, and make-up is a way of life for me. It’s a routine hazard, but one that eventually takes a toll. I have an uneven skin tone, and the constant use of beauty products made it worse. I don’t think I ever went out without make-up on, simply because I thought if I never covered these flaws, I’d look horrible. One of my friends suggested I try Amino Collagen. Honestly, my first reaction was nothing but that of doubt. I had never heard of this Japanese product. But I could see an obvious, healthy glow on her face. This compelled me to give it a try. The product looks very simple and unassuming; nothing fancy or exclusive. I started adding the white Amino Collagen powder to my daily diet. I prefer drinking it with my early morning honey and milk concoction. Within a week, I could see the results. After three months of regular usage, I am an ardent fan of this product! The luminosity that it brought to my skin was absolutely unbelievable! I had developed some darkness on my forehead, near my hairline, about two-three years ago. None of the products I tried made any difference, but Amino Collagen did! My face looks supple and fresh, something I have craved to see for a long time. Now as a routine buyer, I recommend this to everyone in my friend circle. It’s not very costly and the effects are guaranteed.

Pros : simple usage, reasonable price, definite results

Cons : none

Bioderma Sensibio H2O Review

I finally got my hands on this baby! This product can only be found in France and maybe in the UK. While searching, I found out that this online site sells this product in India. And they also have a shop in Thane. Before I buy a product, I always like to see it and then buy, so I went to the store instead of ordering it online.

Bioderma Sensibio H2O is a water base make-up remover/cleanser. This one that I got is for sensitive skin. You also get one for combination and oily skin which comes in a bottle with a green cap. You can use this water on your face and even on your eyes. It is a very mild cleanser. It has a very mild fragrance. You don't really smell it, unless you really sniff on the cotton. Haha! This product is amazing. It takes away all the make up on your face. If you have any waterproof make up then it might take you a little while but it does take off all make up. The water gets absorbed into the skin pretty quickly and it does not leave your skin dry.

You get this product in three different sizes. You get a smaller, travel sized one and a 500ml bottle. I got the medium sized bottle because the shop didn't have the bigger one. I think it's a good size as I can just carry it in my travel bag. This one also doesn't break me out my skin. The only down fall is the price. It is a little pricey for the amount you get. But the product is totally wort it. I see why this has been a hyped product for such a long time. I'll give it a 4/5.

Avon Moisture Rich Lipstick

I have this never ending desire of collecting all natural & nude shades, and it never seems to lessen. Nude perfection from Avon Moisture Rich is a latest addition to my stash. This is my first lipcolor from the range, and I am not disappointed.

Price: Rs.375, but often found with discounts

Avon says:
Our most moisture-infused lipstick…for the lushest color you’ve ever known! Up to 500% moisture boost. 1000% full-on sexy lips. Ribbons of rich moisturizers intertwine with seductively smooth color for a sensuous surge of deep hydration.

My Experience:
I like it and love it. Its very sheer and works like a nude gloss with subtle shimmer particles. I pair it with Avon glimmerstick nude lipliner and I am good to go. Best part is that its moisturizing and doesn’t dry out the lips at all. Now the worst part the stay power, its all gone after snacks, else it stays for around 2 hours.
The colors bullet is really beautiful, with awesome swirls crying out loud… try me … try me

What I like:
1.      Moisturizing and doesn’t dry out at all,
2.      This is a very beautiful nude shade,
3.      Very subtle shimmer, and doesn’t need a gloss,
4.      Fits the pockets, I got it for Rs. 229

What I did not like:
1.      The stay power, cant survive the snacks and drink,

Overall its a very pretty lip color in a very sturdy and beautiful packaging. Will surely recommend, if you are looking for a moisturizing color and don’t mind the poor stay power.

Nivea powerfruit relax shower gel: Review

The trusty good old shower gel from  Nivea, it comes with a blue sidekick of a loofah.

Its supposed to be charged with the goodness of acai berry and blueberries. This is pH skin balanced and dermatologically approved. The packaging looks nice and soothing and is functional with a simple flip top.

The gel is mildly fragrant and texture is just right not too thick, not to runny. Its leaves my skin feeling fresh, though not superbly hydrating I can get by with a light moisturizing lotion after using this shower gel.

Priced at Rs 175/- for 250 ml its a good value for money everyday shower gel.

I'd recommend and would definitely be checking out more variants in this range

Figure Flattering Runway trends

You do not need to have a body to die for to look fab in those runway inspired outfits! Some runway trends can be translated into a look you can carry off in your every day life. Here are a few trends that flatter any body shape and make you look every bit the fashion diva.

The monochrome is one trend that will make you look long and lean without compromising your curves. A win-win! This trend works not only for an all black ensemble but also for bright and bold colors. The little black belt that cinches at the waist can add dramatic curves and makes for an instant slimming solution.
An elongated V-neck adds length to your torso making you look lean and also gets you a lot of attention. Color blocking is an ingenious way to drag attention away from the areas you want to. Panels of a darker shade along the body make you appear smaller.

Layering is another way to hide those not so flattering bumps! It also adds a look of sophisticated glamour to your every day outfit. If you are feeling a little bold you can also try accentuating your shape with a dress with sheer paneling. This creates an optical illusion that enhances your hourglass shape.

So ladies, incorporate these chic runway trends and up your fashion quotient.

Lakme Absolute Gel Stylist Nail Polish

Okay first of all let me tell you this is my new favourite formula of polishes. These are SOOO good ! Im not even the kind of girl who gushes and goes like ‘OMG you guys, that lip balm was AHMAZING it changed my LIIFEE ‘  types but these really are ! They are super super glossy, opaque in two coats and they maintain their uber glossyness over the course of 4 days. There is also something super fun about applying these- they have this gel like consistency that just spreads smoothly and you are done in a jiffy! You will see tip wear by Day 2-3 but these dont chip until Day 5 so if you are planning a trip going trekking or something – these Lakme Absolute Gel Stylists need to be stashed away  in your rucksack !
Coming to the color- its a regular, sheeny orangey red . The name tomato tango is pretty appropriate actually! I just think its the glossyness and finish that elevates this from a regular red polish to a stunning one. They also have a gorgeous neon pink in this which i tried on my trip to Mumbai for Lakme Fashion Week 2013 !

Recommendation: These Lakme Absolute Gel Stylists have a super finish, are super glossy and last over 4 days with minimal tip wear. I really like these polishes, and though i definitely think they could have been priced more competitively (You get OPI for 80 bucks more), i have to give credit where due. These are pretty great, even though the glossyness can become dull after 4 days…most polishes dont even last 4 days so yay!
